Our Team

Almost four years ago, a small band of passionately pro-life individuals got together to explore the possibility of opening up a maternity home for pregnant women in the Diocese of Albany.

Several of them have been intimately involved with the Alight Pregnancy Center in Hudson. All have felt the call of the Holy Spirit to provide a safe haven for expectant mothers who would otherwise face abortion.

Meet our team of warriors with decades of proven success on the front lines of the pro-life battle.

Noelle Ryan, President

Noelle has been involved with pro-life activities for 29 years. In that time , she has been a leader in Respect Life Groups in her former parish, and in her current parish. As a junior high school teacher, she was able to start a pro-life program in the Catholic school she worked in. Since moving to the Catskills, she has joined the advisory council for 40 Days for Life Hudson, having completed seven successful campaigns. She has established the Walking With Moms In Need program, in her parish in answer to Bishop Scharfenberger' request to have one in every parish. She joined New Life Maternity at its inception, inspired by the vision of our first president, Michelle Waldron. After Michelle relocated, she became president.

Michelle Waldron, First President, and original galvanizing force for NewLifeMaternity

I am proud to serve on the board of New Life Maternity Home.  My name is Michelle Waldron I have been involved with the Pro Life cause since 2003. I started out as a volunteer at Alight Center, Inc and eventually became Executive Director, Client Services Director and a Nurse for the center.  I have been happily married for 27 years, I have four children and one granddaughter.  The Lord spoke to me and showed me that a Maternity home was much needed.   With the prompting of the Holy Spirit, on the Feat of St. Rita May 22, 2019 I called many faithful prolife friends together to make plans for a future maternity home.  On that day the New Life Maternity Home Board had its beginnings.  I am very grateful to serve our Lord in this way and be surrounded by spirit filled dedicated people.

Meals on Wheels, Good Cause Theater Club, Irish Step dancing and sporting events for her 5 daughters, who all attend Catholic schools.  Her passion grew for helping young women in need through her time at the Alight Center, a Christian run pregnancy crisis center. Theresa saw the need for something more for these young women. They needed a welcoming and nurturing place to call home.  Theresa Donlon is also a full-time Realtor serving the Hudson Valley, Catskills and the entire Capital Region of upstate New York. She feels honored and blessed to be on the Board of Directors for New Life Ministries (NLM).

Michele Bernasconi

Michele’s inspiration to become more involved in pro-life work comes from walking along side a few beloved women in her life who have experienced tremendous suffering as a result of their decision to have an abortion.  Each of these women felt that they didn’t have the support they needed to bring their crisis pregnancy to term.  They felt alone, scared, and could not see a path for themselves as a mother.  They felt like they didn’t have a choice.  This propels Michele to help women know they are not only loved, but they have a community of support to help them know they are also not alone.  Michele’s most important pro-life work has been in her own home raising her 3 daughters.  Most especially, Michele is passionate about striving to communicate to all people in all situations that their life has intrinsic value and they are a gift.
